In the same year, production of steam and dynamo engines, electric motors, vehicles, lifting equipment, pumps, blowers and installation materials begins at the machine factory in Berlin's Ackerstraße. The two Zeitreiter 1887-1895 and 1888-1890 deal with “AEG-Stadt” between the Volkspark Humboldthain in Berlin-Wedding, Brunnenstrasse to the east, Brunnenviertel further south and Ackerstrasse to the west. AEG built one factory after another on this site according to the plans of Paul Tropp. With the help of Franz Schwechten, the large machine factory, the small motor factory, the two factories for railroad equipment, sometimes also called the “Old Factory” and the “New Factory”, the assembly hall for large machines and the factory for high-voltage equipment are built here.
